DLC was pretty decent, but only Danger Rising came close to the quality of the JC3 DLC. However, the game is extremely fun just to mess around and play in like a sandbox, and 100%ing the game after I finished all the missions was quite fun too, and the car driving felt almost like a Forza game. I’m currently in the process of replaying all of the games and 4 is probably the least fun to replay, due to the repetitiveness of some missions, which wasn’t nearly as present in previous games. JC4 feels sort of like an imitation of 3, it mainly focuses on the destruction aspects and gives the missions a backseat. I also wished it ran a bit better on my Xbox One, as I kept getting frame drops during chaos. However, the map was pretty good, but I wish it had some of the cool areas 2 had, like the Panau Space thing. JC3 also has some of the most memorable characters in the franchise and some of the best DLC. JC3 was the first just cause game I purchased myself, and it has such a great story, it fixed most of the issues that I had with 2, and the wingsuit is an amazing addition. However, grappling around feels stiff and liberating the bases by just going through them with a technician gets boring after the first three. JC2 is where I started like a lot of people, it’s got such a good map, very grounded but not too grounded, funny dialogue, and probably some of the best missions in the franchise that don’t involve blowing stuff up. At the same time, the story will begin at a time when the character is going through some major changes in his life.JC1, have no opinion, haven’t played it and not planning to since people say it isn’t that great.

Kolstad wanted to stay faithful to the spirit of the original and correctly convey the protagonist's image. The writer indicates "some of its elements may change in the future," but the basis remains in place. Kolstad also said the filmmakers are currently happy with the plot. Rico himself will be right at the center of it all, too. According to Kolstad, he views the game’s hero and his daring story as "Indiana Jones by way of James Bond." Kolstad promised that all the key elements of the games, including its mind-blowing action and atmosphere, will remain in the movie. In a new interview with Collider, Derek Kolstad spoke about his work on the Just Cause adaptation.
